LVI.

Eternal Truth shines on o'er Error's cloud,
Which, for a little, veils the living light.
Therefore, though the true bard may sing aloud
His soul-song in the unreceptive night,
His words—swift, arrowy fires—must fly and light,
Sooner or later, kindling south and north,
Till skulking Falsehood from her den be hunted forth.
