CHAPTER IX. The poetical works of John and Charles Wesley | ||
1930.
[What comfortable words are Thine]
Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen Him, &c.
—ix. 37.
What comfortable words are Thine,
Physician of the helpless poor!
They speak our Comforter Divine,
They speak our heart-felt pardon sure:
Thy words are words of truth and grace,
Spirit, and light, and life they give;
We hear, we see the Speaker's face,
We see the face of God, and live!
