A deputation to the adverse camp.
Arminius.
The time now calls for action: Inguiomer,
We will go forth to visit ev'ry post,
And with true ardour fire the soldier's breast.
[Exeunt Arminius and Inguiomer.
Gothmund.
Would that this treach'rous Gaul were in our pow'r.
Upon the rack the slave shall die in torment,
And his accomplices shall share his fate.
