Epig. 42. Of Crispus and his formall beard.

Cristus doth spend his time, in labour sore,
To bring his Beard in fashion if he could:

18

Quils, Irons, and Instruments he hath good store,
To fashion it, and make it fashion hold.
But all his other parts he quite neglects:
Of Minde, and Body, (fowly out of frame)
For, sith in's Beard lye all his Soules Affects,
With all the Bodyes glory, grace and fame,
There is great reason he should still controle,
That wayward Part that onely makes the Whole.
