It was a wondrous place I ween;
And the roof, and floor, and walls, were sparkling sheen.
Not brighter blaze the fields
Of those renowned and golden shields
That hang in Asgard's ever glistening halls,
Than, burst upon the sight
With a clear crystalline light
Those icy, lucent, and transparent walls.
