In the first referendum on
the ballot, students voted
2308 to 729 to change the
name of the Student Council
O and P (Organizations and
Publications) Committee to
the Appropriations
Committee.

Students defeated a second
proposed change by a vote of
1990 to 1549. The second
question proposed that
"Student Council shall be
prohibited from disbursing
funds collected from
mandatory student fees to
any organization or
publication which takes a
stand on political issues or
which undertakes to effect
political change."
