Urged At Columbia

Mr. Jones, in an interview with
The Cavalier Daily yesterday,
said that his motion was prompted
by a letter published in Sunday's
New York Times. The letter,
written by the faculty of
Columbia University, urged such
action for that university against
penalizing students who dissent
from the draft process.

He added that a directive
from General Hershey has already
been sent to local draft
boards, saying that "Any student
or eligible male who obstructs
the process of military recruiting
should be immediately reclassified
and conscripted."
