Mrs. Edwin Betts (center), Rotunda hostess, and Mrs. T. Braxton Woody partake of the fruits of their labors in a re-enactment last Friday of the Oct. 6, 1817, laying of the cornerstone for Pavilion VII, the University's first building. This time, however, the cornerstone and Pavilion were made of cake designed by Mrs. Betts. The ceremony, held in the garden of Pavilion VII, was sponsored by the University Guides, Reid Carter (right), president of the Guides, also participated in the ceremony.
