ELECTIONS

The President proposed and the Board adopted the following resolution

RESOLVED by the Board of Visitors of The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that
the following persons be and they are hereby elected to the faculty

Mr. William E. Castle as Assistant Professor of Speech Pathology and Audiology, for three years,
effective 1 September 1963

Mr. William F. Cheek, III as Visiting Assistant Professor of History, for one year, effective
1 September 1963

Mr. George T. Davis as Acting Assistant Professor of Chemistry, for one year, effective
1 September 1963

Mr. Herbert Emmerich as Professor of Political Science, effective 1 September 1963, at a
salary of $13,400

Mr. James Hagan as Instructor in Art, for one year, effective 1 September 1963

Mr. Steven A. Jervis as Acting Assistant Professor of English, for one year, effective
1 September 1963

Mr. William H. Kenner as Visiting Professor of English, for one semester, effective 1 September
1963, at a salary of $8,850

Mr. Donald M. Miller as Assistant Professor of Education, for three years, effective
1 September 1963

Dr. Frank G. Moody as Assistant Professor of Surgery, for three years, effective 1 July 1963.

Mr. Bryan R. Noton as Visiting Associate Professor of Aerospace Engineering in the School of
Engineering and Applied Science, for one year, effective 1 September 1963, at a salary of $9,600

Mr. Carlo Pelliccia as Acting Assistant Professor of Architecture, for one year, effective
1 September 1963, at a salary of $7,600

Mr. John L. Peterman as Lecturer in Economics, for one year, effective 1 September 1963, at a
salary of $7,300

Mr. Frank S. Quinn, Jr. as Instructor in Mathematics in the School of Engineering and Applied
Science, for one year, effective 1 September 1963, at a salary of $6,000

Mr. Roger L. Ransom as Lecturer in Economics, for one year, effective 1 September 1963, at a
salary of $8,500

Mr. Richard L. Staley as Instructor in French, for one year, effective 1 September 1963, at a

Mr. George B. Thomas, Jr. as Assistant Professor of Philosophy, for three years, effective
1 September 1963, at a salary of $7,600

Mr. Fernando Toro-Garland as Assistant Professor of Spanish, for three years, effective

Mr. Vincent W. Uhl as Professor of Chemical Engineering, effective 1 September 1963, at a
