VIII.
‘The precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard,
even Aaron's beard; that went down to the skirts of his garments.’—
Ps. exxxiii. 2.
Precious ointment, very costly, of chief odours pure and sweet,
Holy gift for royal priesthood, thus for temple-service meet;
Such the Spirit's precious unction, oil of gladness freely shed,
Sanctifying and abiding on the consecrated head.
