EMBLEME 28.

Th' ascending Path that vp to wisedome leades
Is rough, vneuen, steepe: and he that treades
Therein, must many a tedious Danger meet,
That, or trips vp, or clogs his wearied feet:
Yet led by Labour, and a quicke Desire
Of fairest Ends scrambles, and clambers higher
Then Common reach: still catching to holde fast
On strong'st Occasion, till he come at last
Vp to Her gate, where Learning keepes the key,
And lets him in, Her best Things to suruay:
There he vnkend (though to himselfe best knowne)
Takes rest, till Time presents him with a Crowne:
In quest of this rich Prize, your toyle's thus graced:
Euer to be in Times best Border placed.
