[Thou didst Thy Son bestow]

God sent not His Son into the world to, &c. —iii. 17.

Thou didst Thy Son bestow
Thy truth of grace to prove,
And Jesus did by dying show
Sincerity of love:
He suffer'd in our place
By mercy's sole decree:
Know every child of Adam's race
Thy Saviour died for thee!
