Spain's high-born chiefs his valour prais'd,
On him Spain's high-born damsels gaz'd:
But Ellen only charm'd his sight;
Who but Alonzo Ellen's knight?
No frown of her's his flame reprov'd,
Too fatally the lovers lov'd.
