LABOURERS SOLILOQUY ON DEAD DOBBIN
What time concludes the ploughmans many broils& the bright plough share worn with many toils
In the unfinishd furrow lies at boon
A glittering miror to the rays of moon
& weary horses from their tackle freed
At upheapd cribs or racks are left to feed
Poor labouring nat an old & hardy clown
Who had thro life turnd many a furrow down
& held the plough thro many a weary morn
By labour living & to labour born
Oer the bare pasture he in sorrow hied
Were worn out dobbin tother day had dyd
A worthy favourite claimd his tender sighs
Now left the prey of crows & chattering pyes
His mangld carcass usfull now no more
In mournful musings nathan bended oer
Past reccolection on his memory sprung
When he & dobbin both were stout & young
Full many a yoking they together knew
When both were prizd for what their strength coud do
& like old friends a parting tear was shed
