[Following Christ when danger's near]

He was withdrawn from them, . . . and kneeled, &c. —xxii. 41.

Following Christ when danger's near,
Leaving friends we pray apart,
Tell Him all our grief and fear,
Pour out all our troubled heart,
Bow our soul and body's knee
To the Lord of earth and skies,
Prostrate in humility,
Mix'd with Jesus' sacrifice.
Every knee shall bow before
God's tremendous righteousness:

291

Jesus on His knees adore!
God supreme, as man He prays!
Angels tremble at the sight,
Cast their crowns before His throne:
We our prayer to His unite,
God respects them both as one.
