CHAPTER XXII. The poetical works of John and Charles Wesley | ||
1532.
[Who knows the evils that remain]
They began to enquire among themselves, &c.
—xxii. 23.
Who knows the evils that remain,
The trials still behind?
Thou, Lord, who canst my will restrain
To every sin inclined:
I cannot answer for my heart
So full of treachery;
Or fear, (if Thou my keeper art,)
To fly, and fall from Thee.
