SCENE XII.

Enter Araspes.
Did.
Araspes in these walls?

[the flames begin to appear at a distance amongst the buildings.
Aras.
I come, in pity
Of your endanger'd state—the furious king
Destroys and burns the lofty domes of Carthage.

Driven by the raging wind—if you delay
A moment now to appease his vengeful anger,

Did.

Sel.
O! fatal day!
