Plato to Archytas
|
The History of Philosophy | ||

Plato to Archytas
Thee the surveyor of the Sea and Land,And the innumerous sand,
A little share of these small dusty grains,
Archytas now contains,
Hard by the Matine shore: It nought avail'd,
Since dye thou must, t'have scar'd
Th'aeriall Orbs, or that thy soaring soul
O're-run the wheeling Pole.
