If any man come to Me, and hate not his, &c. —xiv. 26.

The tenderest love which nature knows
Compared with what to Christ he owes
May pass for enmity.

Jesus the Saviour he prefers,
Jesus the Good supreme;

He renders back into His hands,
Or dies himself for Him.
