XI.

Harcourt, high-grac'd, elate withdrew:
Hope's golden dreams round Constance flew,
And Julian with Lancastria's fame
Fann'd in her breast love's virgin flame.
Did friendship Julian's bosom move,
Or pin'd the youth with hopeless love?
The tale of faithful Julian hear,
Yield to his grief a soothing tear.
