[Peace to this house! the greatest good]

Into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace, &c. —x. 5.

Peace to this house! the greatest good
Which sinners can from God receive!
The peace Divine on all bestow'd
Who in a proffer'd Christ believe,
The peace which seals your sins forgiven,
And brings you here a taste of heaven.
We cannot wish our neighbour more
Than present and eternal peace,
The riches these of Jesu's poor,
With which the sons of men we bless,
And spread through earth the precious prize,
And turn it into paradise.
