[I had a Rock & a wee Pickle Tow]

I had a Rock & a wee Pickle Tow,
And I wad gae try spining o't.
I Loute me doun and my Rock took a Low,
and that was an ill begining o't.
I Luntit, I Brunt it, it vexed me to death;
I waited, I fretted, and was unco Laith,
That my Rock & my Tow should meet with sic skaith,
an hae sic an ill beggining (o't)
