HOMEWARD

Swift-winged wind, wild bird of the waste ocean!
Carry my message home:
Tell her I come;
Whisper unto her of my life's devotion.
Stars that behold us both for all this distance
Between me and my home:
Tell her I come;
Assure her of my faith and love's persistence.
Fore-reaching Thought! thyself o'erstep the billow;
Bear thine own message home.
I come, I come.
Even now, Dear Love! my glad heart is thy pillow.
