[Sinners, approach, the Lamb is slain]

The veil of the temple was rent in twain. —xv. 38.

Sinners, approach, the Lamb is slain,
And lo, the veil is rent in twain,

91

The heavenly sanctuary true
Is now exposed to mortal view,
And earth through Christ's atoning blood
Is one great temple fill'd with God.
Rent is the sacred flesh of Him
Whose death doth every soul redeem;
He made the new and living way
Which leads to everlasting day,
That all mankind alike forgiven
Might pass through Jesus' wounds to heaven.
