CHAPTER XV. The poetical works of John and Charles Wesley | ||
1118.
[Casting a dying look]
Why hast Thou forsaken Me?
—xv. 34.
Casting a dying look
Thy God Thou couldst not find
Because Thy Spirit had forsook
Our whole apostate kind.
Nor could our fallen race
Rise, and return to God
Or e'er retrieve Thy Spirit's grace,
But through Thy sprinkled blood.
