Students In Faculty Meetings
Professor Fredson T. Bowers of the English department announced
yesterday procedures for students who wish to express their opinions
on the proposal to admit student press representatives to the meetings
of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Mr. Bowers is chairman of a
faculty committee to study the issue.
The committee has invited members of various student organizations
to appear before it. However the committee will not be able to hold
open hearings for all students. If a student does wish to make his views
known, the Committee encourages the submission of a letter stating his
opinions to any of its members.
The committee is composed of, besides Mr. Bowers, Martin C.
Battestin, Professor of English; William W. Abbot, Professor of History;
David B. Harned, Professor of Religious Studies; and Edward A.
Kolodziej, Associate Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs.
The committee expects to present its report to the October meeting
of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
