| CHAPTER XIV. The poetical works of John and Charles Wesley | ||
1092.
[Into the hands of sinful men]
Betrayed into the hands of sinners.
—xiv. 41.
Into the hands of sinful men
Is Holiness Himself betray'd,
Sinners to save from Satan's den,
To snatch them from the' infernal shade.
The hour is come by nature fear'd,
For which so long His spirit pined,
For which He in the flesh appear'd,
To honour God, and save mankind.
