On motion, the Board recessed at 4:20 p.m., and resumed on Saturday, January 20, 2000, at 10:45 a.m., in Open Session
in the Board Room of the Rotunda to hear a brief report from Mrs.
Holland. In addition to Mrs. Holland, the Rector and
Messrs. Bliley, Caravati, Crutchfield, Greer, Rainey,
Robertson, Walker, Warthen, Wolfe and Phelan were present.
Mrs. Holland, who is the Board's liaison to the State Council of
Higher Education in Virginia, reported that SCHEV's 2001 conferences for members
of Boards of Visitors have been set for April 20th and October 19th. The April
meeting will be held at the College of William and Mary and the October meeting
in Richmond. The Hon. Edwin Meese, former Attorney General of the
United States, will speak at the October meeting.
On motion, the meeting was adjourned at 10:50 a.m.
