[Who would not eagerly desire]

He took a child, and set him in the midst, &c. —ix. 36.

Who would not eagerly desire
That envied infant's place?
Jesus, I to Thine arms aspire,
And pant for Thy embrace:
My ruin'd innocence re-give,
My lost simplicity,
And then with arms of love receive
A little child in me.
