[By his tyrannising sin]

By his tyrannising sin
The sinner is possess'd,
Harass'd by a spirit unclean
Which will not let him rest:
This my dreadful case I own:
But tortured by the fiend impure,
Jesus, at Thy feet I groan,
And here expect a cure.
