A SONG. I.
[The Heart you left, when you took mine]
The
Heart you left, when you took mine,
Proves such a busie Guest;
Unless I do all Pow'r resign,
It will not let me rest.
Proves such a busie Guest;
Unless I do all Pow'r resign,
It will not let me rest.
It my whole Family disturbs,
Turns all my Thoughts away;
My stoutest Resolutions curbs,
Makes Judgment too obey.
Turns all my Thoughts away;
My stoutest Resolutions curbs,
Makes Judgment too obey.
If Reason interpose her Pow'r,
Alas, so weak she is;
She's check'd with one small soft Amour,
And conquer'd with a Kiss.
Alas, so weak she is;
She's check'd with one small soft Amour,
And conquer'd with a Kiss.
