Yale Selected

Another rivalry, the oldest
and most famous, is Yale at
Harvard. Although season
records and other criterion are
useless in this emotional
battle, Yale is a narrow pick
over the Crimson.

Right up there with the big
ones is the South
Carolina-Clemson classic. A
few prophets balked at picking
either team to win this one,
but eventually things came out
pretty evenly in this
non-contest.

North Carolina, headed for
the Sun Bowl, is unanimously
favored to trample Southern
Conference kingpin East
Carolina. Turkey Don Strock
has won the hearts of the
panel, and his Hokie followers
should have no trouble
deepening the woes of Wake
Forest.

Maryland's Terrapins will
travel to the Orange Bowl, not
to play in the New Year's Day
extravaganza, but to take on
Miami University. The majority
of Proggers sees the Terps
getting burnt by the Hurricanes
as well as the tropical sun.
