Working Women

According to a spokesman for The Virginia
Weekly, many women who needed to work in
order to supplement their families' incomes
were forced to stay home to care for the
children. Others had to take their children into
the orchards with them.

In order to meet the immediate need,
arrangements have been made to expand the
existing free child care center run by the Child
Care Committee of the Charlottesville Women's
Liberation at Westminster Presbyterian Church
from three to five days from 7:30 a.m. to 6
p.m. This will make it possible to care for the
migrant children whose parents work in from 7
a.m. to 6 p.m. The kindergarten program will
also be transferred to Westminster Church.
