About 60 students showed up last night in the auditorium of James Southall Wilson Hall for a "Ban Physical Education" rally. Stuart Pape, a fourth-year College student and a member of the Virginia Progressive Party, moderated the session while Peter Pettit, a second-year law student, gave the Physical Education Department's side of the issue. The students discussed whether or not body building really build up the body, and other such matters until finally coming to a decision to hold a referendum on the subject among first-year men in the College, as to whether Physical Education should be continued, and if so with or without credit.
