John Earle of Morton tooke the regall Seate,His state, his toyle, his pompe, his cares, all great:
The French, the Welsh, the Scotsh, all prou'd his foes,
The Pope King Iohn did from his Crowne depose.
His Lords rebel'd, from France the Dolphin came,
And wasted England much with sword and flame.
And after seuenteene yeeres were full expir'd,
King Iohn being poysoned, to his graue retir'd.
