[Left to themselves the strong give place]

Left to themselves the strong give place,
The weak are fortified by grace:
The men forsake their Lord and fly,
The women stand and see Him die!
His death its sovereign power imparts
With bolder faith to female hearts,
And bids the feebler vessels prove
The utmost strength of bleeding love.
