THE WINDOW-MIRACLE
It blossomed here on the window,
All the long still winter night,
While the earth in moonshine slumbered
With face upturned and bright.
All the long still winter night,
While the earth in moonshine slumbered
With face upturned and bright.
It blossomed here on the window,
The phantom-summer of Frost,
With trees and flowers and foliage—
All loveliness that is lost.
The phantom-summer of Frost,
With trees and flowers and foliage—
All loveliness that is lost.
The children, awakened at dawning,
Stand gazing with hushed delight;
They see, with sight beyond seeing,
This miracle of the Night!
Stand gazing with hushed delight;
They see, with sight beyond seeing,
This miracle of the Night!
