during regular office hours.

First-year students who obtained a
2.000 grade point average for the
fall semester are now eligible to
operate an automobile at the
University. These automobiles,
however, must be registered at the
Department of Security on
Brandon Avenue and students must
properly display the University
decal within 24 hours after the
automobile is brought to the City
of Charlottesville or the County of
Albemarle.

The Housing Office announces that
due to the demand for space in
University single student housing,
the Housing Committee has
recommended that living
accommodations for the 1971-72
session be allocated on a class
(year) basis and distributed by
lottery. In order to accomplish the
above, students living off-grounds
who desire to be considered may
register in the Housing Assignment
Office located in Page House before
February 9, 1971. Those students
presently living in University
receive registration forms in their
mail boxes.

Preliminary applications for Lawns,
Ranges and Crackerbox for the
1971-72 regular session are now
available in the Housing Assignment
Office in the basement of Page
House. Those who may apply for
the following accommodations are:
for the Lawns and Crackerbox,
undergraduate degree candidates in
their final year (graduate degree
candidates may also be considered);
for the East Range, second to
fourth year medical students; for
the West Range, graduate students
in good standing who have attended
the University for at least two
semesters.

After the preliminary applications
are received those students
approved will be designated rooms
by lottery.
