ACTIONS RELATING TO CHAIRHOLDERS

The following resolution was adopted:

• RESOLVED that the actions relating too the chairholders are approved as shown below:

(a) Election of Chairholders

• Ms. Karen S. Chase as Cavaliers' Distinguished Teaching Professor, for two years, effective June 25, 1998. Ms. Chase will continue as Professor of English, without term.
• Dr. Howard P. Gutgesell, Jr., as J. Francis Dammann Professor of Pediatric Cardiology, effective February 25, 1998. Dr. Gutgesell will continue as Professor of Pediatrics, without term.
• Dr. John Kattwinkel as Charles I. Fuller, Jr., Professor of Neonatology, effective February 25, 1998. Dr. Kattwinkel will continue as Professor of Pediatrics, without term.
• Dr. James S. Tiedeman as DuPont Guerry, III, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, effective April 25, 1998. Dr. Tiedeman will continue as Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, for the period April 25, 1998 through June 30, 1998.
• Mr. Philip Zelikow as White Burkett Miller Professor of History, effective June 25, 1998.

(b) Promotions of Chairholders

• Dr. Marie-Louise Hammarskjold from Associate Professor of Microbiology to Professor of Microbiology, effective July 1, 1998.
• Mr. Mark E. Parry from Associate Professor of Business Administration to Professor of Business Administration, effective August 25, 1998.
• Dr. James S. Tiedeman from Associate Professor of Ophthalmology to Professor of Ophthalmology, effective July 1, 1998. Dr. Tiedeman will continue as DuPont Guerry, III, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology.

(c) Special Salary Action of Chairholders Deleted
