IMMORTAL LOVE.
Marriage, though holy, is for earth;
But Love, matured on earth, remains
To those who, in the second birth,
Rise free from earthly stains.
But Love, matured on earth, remains
To those who, in the second birth,
Rise free from earthly stains.
Beyond the rocks and shoals of Time,
The shoreless and unfathomed sea
Extends, unchangeably sublime,
Of God's Eternity;
The shoreless and unfathomed sea
Extends, unchangeably sublime,
Of God's Eternity;
And far beyond our mortal gaze
Extends, and high as Heaven above
Life's drifting clouds and fleeting haze,
Unchanged, immortal Love.
Extends, and high as Heaven above
Life's drifting clouds and fleeting haze,
Unchanged, immortal Love.
