Dear Sir:

As you know 1972 has
ended and it is time to present
the Fire Prevention Award for
1972. This year the award goes
to the Dept. of Grounds at the
University of Virginia. They
have spent years of research
and millions of dollars to
perfect their method. Their
remarkable method employs
the unique idea of cutting
down the trees before they
have a chance to catch fire.
Now that is an idea nobody has
thought of yet.

Just the other day they
began their project by cutting
down one of the largest trees at
the University. Cheers and
shouts were heard from the
crowd as the saws were put
into motion. Their method is
so effective that I can only
hope that the National Park
Service and the Dept. of
Forestry begin using this
infallible method.

Once again, "Thanx"
Virginia. We need more like
you.

Remember kiddies, only
YOU can prevent trees.
