Four boats from the University of Virginia Rowing Association travel to Philadelphia this weekend to compete in the Dad Vail Regatta. The largest intercollegiate crew regatta in the world, the "Vail" is considered the national championship of small rowing colleges. Virginia's varsity heavyweight eight is seeded high, but must contend with Trinity, Temple and last-year's winners, St. Joseph's. The Cavalier first year, JV, and varsity four crews are expected to reach the finals as well. Nearly 150 crews from more than 50 colleges and universities will be on hand for the thirty-third running of this classic.
