The heavenly Householder at last
Vouchsafed to send His only Son:
They slew, out of the vineyard cast
The Heir, and seized it for their own:
Wherefore their Lord in vengeance came,
Those wicked husbandmen destroy'd:
And now they bear the Christian name
Who keep, and rule the church of God.
