EPIGRAMMATIC ADVICE
To a Lady of Quality weeping, whose Cheeks were painted.
Ah, thoughtless A---r! wipe those eyes,Nor dim that brilliant ray,
Whose lustre scorches human hearts,
And emulates the day.
Remember nymph, how short the date,
Of every beauteous flower;—
The rose which now adorns your cheek,
May perish in the shower!
