64. Upon Religion.
In Pious Hearts, a Tree must Grafted be;Whose Fruit, is Honour; whose Root, Industrie.
That Fear made Gods, I readily assent;
For godly Fear, is Graces Instrument.
Although the Root of Piety, speaks Gall;
Yet She is Hony, uppermost of all.
Fear is the Fount; the River which thence springs,
Is Love: whose ev'ry Drop, much sweetness brings.
