LENTVLVS DESCRIPTION OF TERENTIA IN LATIN.
266
266
Thus in English.
Brightsome Apollo in his richest pompe,Was not like to the tramels of hir haire:
Her eies like Ariadnes sparkling starres,
Shone from the Ebon Arches of hir browes.
Hir face was like the blushing of the east,
When Titan chargde the morning Sun to rise:
Hir cheeks rich strewd with roses and with white,
Did stayne the glorie of Anchises loue.
Hir siluer teates did ebbe and flow delight,
Hir necke columme of polisht Iuory.
Hir breath was perfume made of violets,
And all this heauen was but Terentia.
