Pennsylvania Gets Call

Next the Virginia recruiters
returned to one of their most
successful hunting grounds, Pennsylvania.

Two of the prospects, Robert
Burkley of Greensburg and Greg
Miller of Aliquippa, are tackle
prospects. Burkley is 6′ 4″ and
210 libs. Miller is 6′ 2″ and
205 lbs. Both have the type of
frame that could carry twenty to
twenty-five more pounds.

The third Pennsylvania grid star
to sign is Michael Silvester. Silvester
played for South Hills,
Catholic High, the Catholic League
Champion. Coach Blackburn
feels that the speed and agility that
he showed on both offense and defense
will make him an asset to
the University's football teams.

Robert Kasonick of Monroeville
is the final Quaker State
player that the Blackburn squad
has captured of late. He is a 6′ 2″
205 pound offensive and defensive
lineman. Of him, Coach Blackburn
states, "Kasonik has good
agility and speed, and is a versatile
player." He made the All-Conference
team in a strong
league."

Returning to Virginia, the Cavalier
football staff corralled Bill
Davis of Richmond. Davis, 6′ 3″
and 190 lbs., played offensive and
defensive halfback for Collegiate
School.
