Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, &c.

His pity for the body's pain
Its various maladies removes,
But O the sin-sick soul of man
With greater tenderness He loves:
The love which brought Him from the sky
Employs Him in our service still,
Who saves us at the point to die;
And died Himself our souls to heal.
