238. Gods garden.
Each vertuous brest Gods garden is, where growesThe Lilly of faire Chastity, the Rose
Of shamefastnesse, the Palme of charity,
The lowly Groundsell of humility;
The Camomile of patience, with the rest
Of pious plants, that make their owner blest.
But thornes and brambles (cares and crook'd desires)
Must be extirp'd; they're prickt for Stygian fires.
