But ere the Cities fortune was unto
This last black stage arriv'd, safely withdrew
To th' Castles strength thy father was, where he
(Though far from safety) finds the time to be
Inform'd by sober councel how to steer
Through this black storm, love, loyalty, and fear
Had often varied judgments, but at last
Into this form their full resolves were cast.
